Recipe:
- 5 TBSP unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 tsp baking powder
- pinch salt
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
Directions:
In a medium bowl with a hand mixer or in the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the egg, milk, and vanilla and mix until just combined
Add in the baking powder and the salt and mix until just incorporated. Mix in the flour just until combined. You don’t want to overmix this batter.
Bake at 325ºF for 8-10 minutes
Place dough in a ziploc baggie, push the dough to one side of the bag, snip the end off, this will make it a breeze to fill the donut pan.
Fill the pan and bake these little babes until they are golden brown! Let them rest before icing them.
Tip: You can use any type of candy to make these donuts, but if you happen to be using the free printable I suggest using rock candies, or pop rocks as sprinkles!
Take the mini donuts and dip them gently into a dish of frosting. You can use a knife to help spread any uneven-ness.
Set up a fun decorating station like we did for your kids to help you decorate these yummy treats!
Tip: use a drying rack, that way all the icing can drip off instead of pooling around the donut and making it soggy.
