We are excited to feature Isobel, from Bel & Beau, sharing 3 of her maternity fashion rules! Here’s what Isobel says. “I am one of those people that just adores everything there is about being pregnant, especially pregnancy fashion. I am a firm believer that pregnant women can make the majority of their current closet work during those nine months and that you don’t have to completely change the way you dress to accommodate that growing belly. During pregnancy, it is often difficult to find the time and energy to put into your dress, but when you look your best, you feel your best; it is an instant boost to your self-confidence. So I believe that bringing a touch of femininity into your everyday style can completely change the way a woman feels about herself, something that is particularly important during the hormonal/emotional ride that is pregnancy. So today, I am sharing what worked for me during my pregnancy and my three maternity style rules…”

Show off that belly. Wear form fitting dresses to show off that baby bump of yours. If you are going to buy maternity dresses, these form-fitting, stretchy ones are the ones to purchase. I seriously lived in these type of dresses from my first trimester all the way through my third trimester. My favorites are from Isabella Maternity (shown below), Boob Design, and Seraphine Maternity.

Wear Tulle. I love wearing tulle. It makes me feel feminine and pretty, and I love that you can dress it up or dress it down. I wore my tulle skirts throughout my pregnancy, just pulling them above my baby bump instead of below. There is just something about a baby bump dressed in tulle.

Get fancy every once in a while. Just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t get dressed up in your favorite dress for an evening on the town. I celebrated my birthday during my eighth month of pregnancy and I knew that I wanted to wear something special for it. I rented a sequin dress (in two sizes up) from Rent the Runway for my special occasion and spent the evening with my baby bump covered in sequins.
