Smoked BBQ Spare Ribs

Pick a nice slab of Pork Spare Ribs, we got ours from 5280 Meats here, then prep your meat first with your favorite RUB….let it sit for a at least an hour before you cook.

RUB recipe:  1/2 cup Brown sugar, 1 tsp Cayenne pepper or use less if you dont want it spicy, then 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper, 2 tsp dried chopped onion, 1 tsp of dry garlic granules mix in a bowl…then rub on meat liberally and let sit for at least 1 hour.

TO COOK: Remember the 4-3-2 rule… 7-8 hrs total

Fist throw your meat on the grill and SMOKE for about an hour and a half, we used in or

then Grill at 225 degrees for 2 and half hours.  this adds up to 4 hours of cooking time.

Then place them in tin foil with a little apple juice (1-2 cups) and cook on the grill at 225 degrees for another 3 hours

Then take them out of the tin foil and cook for 1-2 hours depending on when they are done…we checked them after an hour and ours were done, if  the bone pulls away from the meat then they are too done. We also basted them with our favorite BBQ sauce for the last 30 minutes.

Now serve with your favorite sides…we sliced up some potatoes and fried them in a pan…with a little of our favorite seasonings…we call these Fried Potatoes.  Then a little salad and some corn on the cob.   ENJOY! xo
