With some basic ingredients and a simple tutorial, you’ll be sipping your way to Santa’s workshop with this North Pole Hot Chocolate!
10 oz. White Chocolate Chips
4 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
2 Cups Whole Milk
1-14 oz. Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 ½ Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
North Pole Stir Sticks
Red Sprinkle Sugar
Coconut Flakes or Candy Shreds
To begin, make your hot chocolate by placing white chocolate chips, heavy whipping cream, whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract in a crock pot. Cook on low for 3 or 3.5 hours, stirring occasionally.
While your hot chocolate is cooking, you can prep your candy candy North Pole stir sticks, since they can be made in advance.
First, unwrap your candy canes. Using a toothpick, press a small hole into the bottom of your marshmallow. Insert the bottom of your candy cane into the hole in the marshmallow. Press the marshmallow on well, and reshape as needed.
Pour your red sprinkle sugar onto a plate or into a bowl. (This will make coating the marshmallows easier!)
Using your paintbrush, dip into water and begin lighting brushing your marshmallow with water. Don’t drench them or the marshmallows will become too sticky and mushy and won’t look good once in your mug!
Once your marshmallow is coated, roll into the red sprinkle sugar. Make sure to coat the top and bottom of your marshmallow too! (I used my fingers to apply the bottom sprinkles!)
Place your candy cane stir sticks aside until ready to use.
Next up, fill a shallow plate with water. Place your coconut or candy shreds onto a different shallow plate.
Flip your mugs upside down and dip the rim of the mug into the plate full of water, to moisten the rim.
Roll the moistened rim into the coconut or candy shreds until coated.
Fill the mugs with the white hot chocolate carefully, insuring your don’t spill onto your candy or coconut rim.
Top with whip cream and place your candy candy north pole stir stick into the mug.
Stir and enjoy!
