Every little house needs a housewarming party…right!? Especially for this little dream playhouse…our design assistant Chelsey and her Hubby recently went to work and built from scratch a fun little playhouse for their sweet charlie girl… today Chelsey is sharing the details from her fun little house-warming party!
Chelsey says,
“We were recently inspired to build a playhouse for our little girl. We live on a corner lot, up on a hill, so our little girl literally had nowhere to play outside, my husband and I started thinking of several ideas and decided to find the “flattest” piece of ground and build a mini- house! We had to build the house on a platform since the ground slopes but this actually worked out really well. I drew up some blueprints for my husband and we went to town! We looked at several playhouse kits at first, but they were really small, and ultimately felt for the money it would cost to do it ourselves we could make it bigger! So we rolled up our sleeves, and got to work! After we finished up, we decided our backyard needed a little makeover so we built a deck and added some new planters! We finished up our backyard project last week and threw a playhouse warming party for our charlie, she is 19 months! It was seriously so much fun, we kept it summer themed with water balloons, pool and the playhouse, slides & outdoor painting. We grilled hot dogs for all the kids + had that darling watermelon cake & ice cream cones. It was the best way to celebrate summer & our new backyard!”
